We had to do our preliminary task at start of the year and we had designated tasks to do. We had to create a shot reverse shot, match on action and keep in mind the 180 degree rule throughout the whole preliminary task. Also an extra challenge for this task was to do an eyeline match which we did. This preliminary task was a challenge and I had lack of knowledge of using the camera and editing on premiere. However our opening sequence was much difficult than this as we had to do different types of shot for camera work, think about the sound, and bare in mind the mise en scene as well as editing techniques. But I feel that it went successful as I was more confident with using the camera and with the practice on premiere I was able to edit the sequence successfully.
Like the preliminary task we had to keep in mind the 180 degree rule however this was much more challenging than the preliminary task as we had to keep in mind the 180 degree rule for a minimum of a minute and a half.
With the skills learned from the preliminary task I was able to apply it to the opening sequence as I created an eyeline match and match on action in the opening sequence
In the preliminary task I took a leadership role of organising in what the people had to be doing. I felt that this made may more confident in being a leader and organising people in our thriller opening sequence.
