In our thriller opening sequence we have different characters representing different social groups.
Disability
People with disability are shown as looking quite normal and wouldn't know that they had a disability until interacting with them.
Other people with physical disability are shown that they rely on other people to get through the day. In our opening sequence we have shown the protagonist similarly to Forrest Gump in terms of looking normal and wouldn't know that they have a disability.
Status
In our opening sequence we follow the convention of middle class people as dressing formally and are 'business like'. These men are shown as quite important and gives us the impression that they have a high status as the way they are standing and are the main focus in the frame. Similarly in our opening sequence we have show high status and power through the use of a low angled shot.
Teenagers
In the media teenagers are shown as quite intimidating, dangerous and violent through the use of costume, body language and sometimes props. In these examples teenagers are shown as being intimating by being in large groups. Unlike our sequence we only show two teenagers but through the use of costume they are shown as intimidating and possibly dangerous. Like these examples in our opening sequence the teenagers have their hoods up the obscure their identity.
